3 Ways to Boost Your Energy

You know that feeling. You have a long day of work and family commitments, and you already feel like you’re dragging before you even get out of bed in the morning. How can you increase your focus? There are lots of simple ways to get ready to take it all on and power through.

  1. Eat Breakfast

They say it’s the most important meal of the day, and that’s true! Don’t start your day without proper fuel in your tank. There are plenty of healthy options available at the Pittsburgh commissary. Pair up your selection with a hot cup of coffee. A little bit of caffeine will perk you up quickly, and enjoying your favorite brew can have health benefits. Try a flavored creamer to add variety to your standard cup.

  1. Make Time to Exercise

Some light cardio in the morning can get your blood pumping fast and arm you with a burst of energy that lasts for hours. Put your headphones in and listen to your favorite podcast while you jog on the treadmill or take a brisk walk around the block with a friend. Even walking the dog is a great option. The fresh air will help to awaken your senses and increase your alertness.

  1. Make a List

If you’re dragging because circumstances feel overwhelming, try writing down what you need to get done and when. Seeing it laid out in front of you might help you realize that it’s not as hard as you think. Plus, it will give you a sense of accomplishment when you can tick off those tasks one by one.

Getting the proper amount of sleep is the best way to feel energized, but these other items can help, too. Incorporate good habits into your life today and start to feel the difference.
